  • On a financial note, it is no fun paying off my credit cards every month, but it feels good at the same time. My income is matching my expenses, but I need my income to outpace my expenses to actually get anywhere this year. The goal? Well, to be totally debt free by the end of this summer. It's totally do-able, but I need to discipline myself (just like gaining weight). I'm not paying any rent, my truck is almost paid off, and school is over, except for some classes. If I can't figure out how to save away money now, I know it won't be any easier later in life.

At least I hear there are more and more things to pay for as your life goes on... Well, here goes to a productive summer.

Televangelists are of the devil. And we're celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Azusa Street revival on TBN... Brent, I hope you're watching-a, cuz they are-a preaching-a, a ministering-a, and annointing-a for 24 hours. I'd talk more, but I'm being drawn into the opportunity to shout-a while the organ and drums-a are building the excitement as this pastor-a is a ministering-a right now. =)

Chris and Kristen - you should be here.

Um, scratch that earlier comment about fiscal responsibility. I'm going to give a seed offering to this minister who's asking-a so sincerely-a. I'm sowing my seed! Of $40! Everyone, join in-a for the anointing-a!

Sorry, they're talking about Iranians-a as terrorists-a against the do-no-harm Israelis. I need to rescue Esther before she hyperventilates.

  • I enjoy watching religion on TV, but I especially enjoy it when I can mute the sound and listen to Radiohead instead. You cannot imagine how gutbustingly funny Benny Hinn becomes when Idiotheque or The National Anthem is playing in the background.

  • Sorry, I spent the evening at PrideFest running into a bunch of LGBT community people that I know, schmoozing with drag queens, signing "vote no on the amendment" petitions, etc. etc. Pretty much the same thing you were doing, right?

    Right?

Oh yeah...and....my pastor was working the beer garden with her collar on. At PrideFest. THAT'S ELCA for ya.

  • Thanks for turning it off before I vomited in my mouth. That form of Christianity is the reason I'm sometimes nervous about calling myself a Christian - I don't ever want to be associated with that. God knows I'll go to my grave before being herded to a conference based on bad eschatology proclaiming the Impending Apocalypse between Iran & Israel. ::shudders at the thought::

I searched my soul and went to urbandictionary.com to find their definition of a televangelist. My favorite:

    1. A preening, posing, drawling, shouting clown in a purple suit and a cowboy hat whose antics cause millions of people to hate Jesus Christ.

    True. That is so true.

  • Ben does an amuzing-a imitation about keeping-a the faith-a.
Oh yeah, I was with Kristen...

  • Nick man, you should hear my televangelist character.

You should watch ECW instead of that stuff though. Like the Pay-Per-View they had this evening. Two guys in their 50's beating each other with barbed wire baseball bats and setting one another on fire.
How is it I don't have a girlfriend again?

Seriously though, you REALLY should spend your time watching my softball team tomorrow. You WILL be called :)

  • July 26th: Going to see my dad. He will be the first to point out loud that I'm gaining weight just like my mother did... Long story. But that's why that dead line.

I got lucky, I had 3K going into late yesterday... mostly collection stuff that was hitting the fan. A long, long time ago, my great grandmother slipped my grandpa and his young bride $3000 for some reason. A day before my grandpa went in for open heart surgery, I think convinced it was his time to go, he and my grandma decided to pay off my debts. So now when I get old and gray, I owe someone in the family a generation or two away, $3000. It's a "secret" family tradition.

But yeah, NOW, not debt free either. Still owe $5000 to my dad for my car, hopefully that will be paid off by 12/07... and I have a personal loan that I still owe $920 back on. But for what it's worth, that's all interest free and off the record.

  • that last comment...it's as if i was there. i laughed out loud.

  • also very cool header and great new pix!

  • hey, speaking of headers...

    ....hmm??

  • Thanks!

  • 'Nointin'!

I actually delivered my symposium presentation on the last day of the Azusa Street centennial bash, and proceeded to skewer the movement in the best way possible. Sweet Lord, we need to cut the dead weight.

    Luya.

  • hey!! what's up? i'm glad you could take something away from my site! what do you do for fun?

    your friend, vyk
