  • If you do nothing else, watch this video of our adventures so far. It has never-before-seen video clips and images! The file size is under 4 megs, so just wait a bit, and you'll be treated! I'm so excited about this video, I hope you all get to see it and let me know how you like it. Unlike a lot of these videos posted here, you see quite a bit more of me, for better or for worse!

Quick commentary: Subway is one of the largest and fastest growing chains in New Zealand. For whatever reason, it really clicks with Kiwis and actually employs a number of Americans. Lehnert and I aren't allergic to fish, so we bought shark burgers and filets across the street and joined Jojo here. The colors are skewed, but the audio worked, so I wasn't going to redo it!

It was sooooo windy, and my pants were soaked through and falling off. Eventually I gave up and just took my pants off. Lots of fun conversations on board. Now we're in Queenstown in the middle of the South Island and enjoying the atmosphere here, catching up on showers and laundry and generally warming up and drying off.

Good book, by the way. It was $79.99 in Kiwi dollars (subtract about 30% for US dollars) so I would be happy to share it with people when I get back. Sorry, I'm way behind on subscriptions, but I'll try to catch up! Don't hold it against me! Not much time left on this trip, I can't believe it!

  • Ok, so I thought I left you a comment, so if it shows up twice, please feel free to delete

If you're behind on your subscriptions, then I'm flattered you managed to make it over to my site! I'm swooning right now, I am, no seriously. (Maybe not.)

So, yes, it is a very different kind of beauty here in Flagstaff ~ but impossible to ignore once you're here.  I think this means you must come visit I think of you often here ~ how could I not, I'm constantly surrounded by TREES! I know you'd love it here.

And, I'm currently watching your videos...without sound.  The madre's speakers are not working. Perhaps we'll have a video watching party when we get back

Comment = too long.  Sorry.  See you soon.

  • Oh yeah, and, PLEASE DO share your current reading material!! I'm definitely interested in digital photography, you may have noticed

  • Glay Sure = still funny.  Your video / slide show thing is great, and if I had any complaint at all it would be the captions hiding so much of the pictures - but they fade out with plenty of time to see everything, so "no worries"...

  • Wow--  looks great--  you're checking off one of the travel items on ly own lifew list.  Lucky you!

  • That video was pretty funny.. nice song selection.. way to get a variety of types crammed into only a couple of minutes. =) Ryc: I might change my profile picture back at some point.. this one is kind of an interim photo, so no worries.

  • Excellent video.  Glad to see that you are having a good time.  By the way, was that  Trans-Siberian Orchestra? You do realize that it's past Christmas, right?

  • Chris and I (and your dad who just happened, miraculously, to walk in while the video was on) enjoyed the scenery. Chris had to interpret some of the songs and views that went with them. I enjoyed 90% of the video project that you obviously put time and lots of creativity into. You are very talented, Nick. See you in about 8 days. Love to you. Mom

  • that was a great long video - good work, and thanks for sharing the craziness & beauty :)
