HAHAHAHAHA ~ I was showing mandalei how I looked before going out to meet, ahem, someone. That was my version of a webcam. I was so flustered I forgot to delete the post before I left. We decided that my bangs were too flat and my lipstick too pink, so at least we got something out of it

My posts that tend to get high commenting are usually mindless quickies with a bit of humor. Do you have any embarassing stories about yourself? Those tend to work well.

lose all the colors, keep it simple, and read other peoples stuff then make a real comment. If it's comments your after it will take lots of maintenence, by way of posting on a zillion sites.

I hate to be the one to suggest how to get more comments but let me give it a try.
I think you are doing everything right with your site. These two post that I just read asked for feedback from people. I think people like to give feedback so I think you have the right idea.
I also would like to comment on your site visits to comments ratio. What you are describing is consistent with most of the people I talk to. One comment for every 10 visits is what most people average. For example, last week on my site I had 35,000 visits. During that same time I only received a little over 4000 comments. So you can see that the 1 to 10 ratio is consistent.
