My stomach tightens when I think about this. A guy in Pennsylvania, David Ludwig (his Xanga) killed the parents of his girlfriend, Kara Borden (her Xanga).
Two awkward teenagers goofing off on Xanga - and quoting "Christian"
songs (Project 86) and talk about their Bible study groups and friends
and post pictures together and.... What happened? In the news, Kara's
friends say she was hanging out with the wrong friends and slipping up
in her relationship with God. Still... A week ago he posted pictures of
himself...and she commented on his hair cut and all. Still freaky. It makes me take more seriously the role of who and what we surround
ourselves with and the importance of not ignoring God because the
choices that you make are....dangerous. It's no lie that we are a great
target to the devil and that it couldn't make him happier to see a guy
claiming to be a Christian kill the parents of his waaay too young
girlfriend.Plus this makes me even more leery of guys who are much older than
their girlfriends! Whatever is wrong with them that is making them
strike out with girls their age is apparently not getting noticed by
the younger girls who are just happy to get the attention. Oh dear, I
have three sisters. Anyways, I heard about this story and keep thinking
about it and praying for the family especially.
Well...this answers some question.
My latest website endeavor for class.

your not opposed to chicks being older than guys are you?
i just reaed thru some of his blog and the comments that were posted. seriously creeped me out. i need to make sure the doors are locked....crcrcreeeeeeeppppy.
No, not at all. I do believe in the half plus seven rule! If the girl was 14, she should not have dated a guy older than 14. At 23, my bottom end should be 18.5 (23 divided by 2 is 11.5 plus 7 equals 18.5), but round up to 19 to be safe. The guy in the story should not have been with someone under 16. That's my rule! Don't like it? Grow older until you fit!
So my friend Andres is okay with a wife 9 years older than him, as long as he wasn't 11 when she was 20! Age differences are fine, but it's only okay when you're older and the years are a smaller fraction of your life.
I hadn't really looked at their sites. Looking now, it's interesting that she commented on his, but I haven't found a single instance where he commented on hers. She doesn't even talk about him on her site except to say that he calls her Shorty and post a pic. She is a member of the blogring, "i'm not short... i'm space efficient!" which I thought was great - she says she's 5'1".
All in all, I got the impression that he was talking the talk about being a Christian when he really seemed to be self-absorbed and materialistic.
She was making announcements about her youth group's events, etc... Hard to say since he must make all his old posts private. I agree! Crrreeeeppppyyy!
Darn it.. they took both sites down and I can't comment about how creepy they were... (how sick of me to want to huh?)...
Sex or no sex--It still strikes me as odd.
Her site is down - she probably got to a computer and did that. His is still up, though.
What's creeping me out a little bit is how much his Xanga looks like ours. We post about our lives and our purchases and our haircuts and our height and our faith...and comment away on others' sites....and it could be any one of us. Kinda scary.
But, obviously, this guy is not the lighthearted Xangan he appears to be, and I keep offering up daily prayers for him, just as I'm praying for her and her family. They have got to be in so much pain right now *sigh*
Ah yeah I tried again and his was up.. it's pretty strange reading and knowing now what happened... especially the IM conversation between Kara and her friend Kayla... weird... But I think it goes to show why it's so important for people to be honest, both with others and themselves... Their relationship was so secretive that it was hard for others to prevent this. Everything in the dark will eventually be exposed by the light - and sometimes that results in realllly ugly tragedies. So sad.
What saddens me the most is reading through the comments other "Christians" left for David... "God's going to send you to hell you f****** *****.. You're a worthless piece of..." is not exactly what David needs right now. He's obviously got issues in his life, and he needs people who will at least listen to him. Are people really that insensitive?
(It's also interesting to note that a lot of the major characters of the Bible were murderers at one point - Moses, David, Paul...) Murder is sin, of course, but it's not the end of David's life. There's still hope for him.
i read the abc link. her parents were both 50 and they left behind FIVE children. the youngest one is 11. augh, it breaks my heart.
