For the fun of it, I scrolled through 8 painful pages of preteen
profiles in the Milwaukee Metro here on Xanga. In what should not have
come as a surprise, I know all but 1 of the 20-somethings listed. What.
Where is the sanity. We need more old people here, and we need more
qualifiers for Xangans Against Poor Grammar & Spelling.
More memories...Today, Chris and I were working - maybe it was at lunch - and Chris paused silently for a moment. I knew what he was thinking. I look like my dad. A
startling revelation. Between the two of us, we have years of genetics
training, but it wasn't until I let my hair air dry when it curled just
like his hair. We have the same hair line, the same waves, everything
but the color. Weird.
In
several hours, I'll be hopping on a plane to - get this - Portland,
Oregon. Has anyone ever heard of the place? Leading me on this tour is
the splendid person on the right. The party starts in Portland and
moves south to Corvallis where I'm supposedly sleeping at the Chi Alpha
boys' house. More like getting the inside scoop on Esther is what is.Really, though. Great people aside. Oregon = trees. Big trees. For
whatever other redeeming qualities they may have, Oregon residents are
basically infringing on the root space of some of the world's coolest
living organisms, and I'm looking forward to checking some out and - if
possible - sharing some moments with the bark. In a hugging fashion.

Dude, it's not nice to call Esther "bark". That's just mean.
I'm on her side anyway.
Have fun! It already seems like fall on my little part of the west coast. It will probably be cool in OR, too. I have a friend from OR who majored in trees in college (after he finished his stint in a ska band). Fun.
Hello stranger, but-losely-connected-person-because-we-have-mutual-friends in Xanga land...I just wanted to say I hope you have a blast in this fair state. Oregon has many beauties and the scenery is pretty too. (I am a registered member of the Esther fan club).
Tree hugger!
I've bid my travel blessings already...but an extra couldn't hurt. Have fun with Esther and Oregon! Tell me all about it when you get back.
I knew you weren't joking when you said you were just coming to see the big trees.. Well, I'm glad you woke up afterall.. I'll see you in a few hours =)
Wow.. how did you find me
Have fun! Hug a tree for me.
do i know you? i feel like i do or i should know you from somewhere
Great to hook up with you. We're so flattered that oyu'd fly all the way out here "just" to see little old us. I hope we were worth your trip!
Thanks for the random kind words... and yes, you DO look like your dad! So do I, all the cool people do.
Hope your trip to Oregon goes well! I, too, enjoy trees. My city has plenty of them; thank God for ordinances.
hmmm oregon, heard you met a stalker.
how were the trees
oh I see
I wish I could travel as much as you do... have fun!
I found a much better way to access the internet and it only involves a chair placed on my bed with the laptop resting on it. So anyway ... glad you made it back safely and enjoyed yourself so thoroughly!
