A very rural Saturday today up in the middle of the state today. These cows were quite fascinated by my presence, but they refused to go back to the classic pose they had going on right before I got the camera out.
Feast your eyes on this joint that I was working at today. It's a scale
model of a Virginia plantation, except for the gaggle of Range Rovers,
it's much like the places I've visited in Virginia. Boxwood hedges, out
buildings, an outhouse for phone conversations, harpsichords built by
the owner, an amazing view, lots of sheep and plenty of chickens. The name of the place, Two Oaks, is on those pillars, and my #1 job is
keeping the oaks healthy, which is quite a task, but I'm up for it!

And what, pray tell, is a "classic" cow pose? Now you've got me wondering.
I'm guessing the cows were previously looking picturesque, with wet noses peeking over the rail. You know, the Classic Cow Pose.
I love old houses - mostly because they usually have mature trees around them. Sappy as it sounds, I think trees make a house a home. So... the little plantation sounds lovely, but it's the trees that make it cool. The pressure's on, Nick. You fail, and that place is No Oaks. They'll have nothing going for them but the outhouse.
Well, it's a pretty new house, really.... I know, the pressure is on...
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture from the backyard, but I will the next time. That angle is much more prestigious-looking. He had a crew of 4 working on the landscape that Saturday, but he really needs more than that to snap things back in shape. We've got customers with much smaller lots and as many as 10 of us working there each day!
