  • I am in the midst of a crazy hair day.

I thought the last part was pointless.

  • Newcastle trumps all. My new girlfriend alternative.

On topic, though, I do rather like being single, and no, I’m not just
syking myself out to feel better about being single… It really does
    have perks!

    • I can hang out with anyone,
    • I don’t have to hang out with someone,
    • No obligatory nightly phone call,
    • Never a time when I have to stay home because “she doesn’t wanna go out”,
    • My eyes are shielded from chick flicks,
    • Other guys envy my single status, and
    • ____________________________

    Fill in the blank!

  • Thomas Jefferson, 1816
I steer my bark with hope in the head, leaving fear astern.
    My hopes
indeed sometimes fail, but not oftener than the forebodings of the
    gloomy.

  • And today’s quotes (from Chris, and not my brother):

“I’ve gotta stop doing stuff like that, too. Drinking vodka straight out of the bottle.”

“Then after this we’ll jump over the hedge. It’ll be a champetition.”

    And Chris, my brother:

“Hmmmm, I mixed this one a good rate. I’m gonna call my woman.”

So we did jump over the hedge. Many times. Chris, Chris, Matt, and I.

We’re taking a break from Fight Club at the moment, and they’re both on the phone with their girlfriend/fiance. I’m typing here on Xanga.

Golfing around the house was quite awesome. We hit the ball around the house, around the fire hydrant, through the pine tree….yeah, it was a blast [and I have no idea how to play]. In terms of the enduring question of two beers or not two beers, I opted for a several over the course of many, many hours, and it was quite awesome. Quite awesome. OK, fourth pizza is in the oven, movie interlude is drawing to a close….

  • Nothing like having a good time golfing in a swimming pool! Chris almost gets beaned in this picture, but he ducks outta the way. Shucks…

This whole day has turned out to be nothing less than hilarious with many instances where I found myself laughing uncontrollably on the lawn!

Edit: I’ve reached some new point in my life. Doing practically nothing today [except buy $150 of fireworks] has led me to believe that this was a great day. Hmmm… perhaps there will be more to come.

  • What’s up, Carolyn!

  • Nothing like giving the subwoofer a little workout with Paul van Dyk. The 340 watts is not doing it for me anymore, though…  How about a seat-mounted bass shaker?

  • So you wake up early in the morning and get down to the dock around 5am
to find that they scheduled you for the next week! I was so upset, I
    napped on Aaron.

You can just tell how upset I was. We
got to fishing and immediately had our best catch of the day!
Julianne’s turn came around and the biggest brown trout I’ve ever seen
bit the bullet with her at the reel. Check it out!

Then it was my turn, and I started reeling in a fish with Milwaukee’s downtown in the background of the picture.

It’s pretty simple, really. When you
hear the first mate yell, “FISH ON,” you grab the rod and reel and just
crank away! I landed this puppy – a nice-sized chinook (or king) salmon.

The Studmaster General, Aaron, caught himself a salmon as did Jake.

Jake was tatooed the night before in
Racine with a sweet ginkgo leaf across his back. Jeremy joined the
crowd and got his nipples pierced. This leaves me as the only one who
hasn’t….and Jeremy has smaller nipples than I do!

Lots of fun – and many thanks to Jake.
He chartered it all and didn’t let us pay him for anything. I do owe
Jeremy a tree t-shirt, though…to cover up those nips!

  • Xanga could stand to fix their comment feature. Argh… What do you think?!? Post comments!

  • Quick social calendar update for all.

Tonight (Tuesday): Scafidi’s Hideout on Humboldt to shoot pool with the guys and any girls that show up.

Wednesday: Company dinner then watching Batman and Robin with Pete and Amanda. Anyone else up for it?

    Thursday: Batman, see below!

Friday: Definitely hanging out with Kristen! Then I’m not sure, might go to Waupaca with Matt to do some volunteer
    landscape/grading work.

Edit: Saturday is free for working and playtime, suggestions?

Edit: Sunday: Deep sea (ok, lake) fishing in Lake Michigan.
Yay! Tree buddies from UWSP are chartering a boat from Racine. Anyone
live in that area? Hint hint… We’re heading out fishing at 4:30am and
finishing around noon. Again, anyone live in that area? Mandy!!!

Then I’m free without plans until the 3rd of July when everyone and
anyone is invited to the lakefront for a carefree afternoon with tons
of fireworks at the US Bank Fireworks. Moby to follow at 10p at Summerfest…hmm… Chris and I are usually in the complete chill mode with 20-25 people flowing through at some point, so let’s make it a big par-tay!

Rachel’s got her party planned. Pete? Amanda? Listening? Brent?

ATB and Paul Van Dyke can put together a killer track.

Muse’s Stockholm Syndrome, while too heavy for most, has some of the
best instrumentals and transitions ever. And what a great chorus?

this is the last time I’ll abandon you

and this is the last time I’ll forget you

Tell me about it. I wish I could forget her.
