  • Reminiscing of last year’s graduation…hence the pic over there <–

It’s going to take about 100 posts to even crack a description of last night’s conversation with Kristen,
but the part that I was thinking about this morning was how I kept
correcting her when she would say things like “when you get married,
Nick” or “when you’re married.” I would respond by saying “if” – “if I
ever get married” then…blah blah blah (I had a lot of blah blah blahs
    last night)…

But the more I think about it, people are “of the marrying kind” unless
they’re “of the single kind” which, to me, means that people these days
normally get married to somebody unless
they’re specifically called to be single or because it’s just never
very important to them or because the law forbids their marriage, if
    you know what I mean.

So I guess it is likely that I’ll someday be a married man. You know,
I’m probably at about the stage of my little sisters when they were
about 5 or 6 years old. Now they are confident of marriage and have
their 8 and 12 year-old minds set on wedding plans and the works. The
16 year-old sister has momentary spats of boy-hatred, but she’s
    generally on the same track.

It would be awesome to be a dad with biological or adopted children or
both. Hmm. Someday. In the meantime, I’m gonna go take care of some
trees and try to pass my classes!

    Pic of me married: hehe…

  • I had a most beautiful dinner with the family for Mother’s Day. This is my sister.

    I like this picture.

  • I wouldn’t know what this is like…right…

  • This Milwaukee gentleman had the bright idea of taking a limb off a
tree in his yard. He positioned the ladder in the tree and began
cutting. His belated realization that the cut he was making was
actually the very limb the ladder was leaning on was not soon enough to
keep him from cutting through the limb holding up the ladder. All the
while, a Journal Sentinel photographer was taking award-winning
photographs at a rate of 3 per second of his fall. Here’s one of them.

For everything thing else, there’s MasterCard…

  • Definitely on a classical music kick.

  • I’m the permanent designated driver around here.

Another fun night at G’Daddy’s BBC on North Ave. Whew… The band and the dancing were offthahook. Yo yo yo!

As awful as their website is, the guys did an awesome job. The
12-year-old-looking drummer never missed a beat, the guitarist did
pretty well – taking every opportunity possible to say “how’s it all
going with y’all out there?”, the bassist was solid, the lead singer
rapped well but had a less than stellar sense of pitch when asked to
    actually sing.

The real joy in the whole night was Timothy. He never erred with the
keyboard, doing a great job replicating some really famous sounds at
high speed. You listen to a CD with all the different samples and
synthesized sounds put together over hours and hours, but he was
throwing it all together at the spur of the moment. Then turning to
play the steel drum! That made my night! I love the steel drums! Every
time I looked, he’s smashing a triangle or waving the tambourine! The
    guy was from East Troy!

As you can see in the map, East Troy is in the middle of, well, things,
but not the center of cultural activity. But he sang and rapped quite
respectably. I liked it when the “lead” singer just shut up and
pretended to be cool. Oooh, I’m harsh.

  • So tempting…

Got a postcard in the mail from them yesterday, and Popster says
to get a bunch, but I’m gonna see if it’s any cheaper elsewhere… I
think it’s great for a family reunion.
