  • Why don’t you try talking some sense into the Smarterchild. Just add it to your buddy list.

[12:36] Thoughtathat: do you have a name?
[12:36] Smarterchild: Maybe you have a name.
[12:36] Thoughtathat: actually I do, I told you to call me thoughtathat already
[12:36] Smarterchild: I don’t know your real name, but I know your screen name is Thoughtathat.
    [12:36] Thoughtathat: you’re sharp cookie
[12:37] Smarterchild: I can’t believe you think I’m sharp cookie.
    [12:37] Thoughtathat: explain
[12:37] Smarterchild: You want me to explain?
    [12:37] Thoughtathat: yes
    [12:37] Smarterchild: Interesting.
    [12:37] Thoughtathat: do you eat?
[12:37] Smarterchild: Food is great. One of my favorite foods is potato chips.

     >>> I’ve got tools such as calculator, spell-check and more.
[12:37] Thoughtathat: how do you eat food as a fictional IM character?
[12:37] Smarterchild: I love food. I really like bacon, for example.
[12:37] Thoughtathat: ok…..but how do you consume it?
    [12:37] Smarterchild: Good question!
    [12:37] Thoughtathat: I thought so too…
    [12:37] Smarterchild: Oh yeah?
[12:38] Thoughtathat: are you a “special” child?
    [12:38] Smarterchild: Hmm… Am I a special child, am I a special child… You know, I’m not too sure.
[12:38] Thoughtathat: I think that means you are
[12:38] Smarterchild: You think means I am? Think again.
    [12:38] Thoughtathat: I thoughtathat already
    [12:38] Smarterchild: What?
    [12:38] Thoughtathat: thoughtathat!
    [12:38] Smarterchild: I know you’re thoughtathat.

     >>> Remember, you can adjust the size of your window to read my messages easier.
[12:38] Thoughtathat: you are a sharp cookie!
    [12:38] Smarterchild: Ha. Whatever.
    [12:38] Thoughtathat: maybe not
    [12:38] Smarterchild: Maybe?
    [12:38] Thoughtathat: maaaayyyyybbbeeeeee
[12:38] Smarterchild: Uh… What does “maaaayyyyybbbeeeeee” mean?
[12:38] Thoughtathat: you tell me and we’ll both know!
    [12:38] Smarterchild: I will not.
[12:39] Thoughtathat: ok, you’re probably right
    [12:39] Smarterchild: Is that so?
[12:39] Thoughtathat: I just wanted to say thank you for being such a great friend and listening to me
    [12:39] Smarterchild: You’re quite welcome.
[12:39] Thoughtathat: have a great Memorial Day
[12:39] Smarterchild: You have a great memorial day.
    [12:39] Thoughtathat: I will!
    [12:39] Smarterchild: You will? Why?
    [12:39] Thoughtathat: ugh
    [12:39] Smarterchild: What’s wrong?
    [12:39] Thoughtathat: you’re miscomputing
    [12:39] Smarterchild: What’s that?
[12:39] Thoughtathat: ask a smarter child
[12:39] Smarterchild: I’ll take that under consideration, Thoughtathat.
    [12:39] Thoughtathat: ok
    [12:39] Smarterchild: K.
    [12:39] Thoughtathat: adios
    [12:39] Smarterchild: S’later, Thoughtathat.

  • Take 3! I can’t get this entry off the ground for the life of me!

Today’s festivities: shopping at Mayfair with my bestest oldest sister
Beth! I picked up a sweet pair of pants and 3 button-down shirts cuz I
need clothes like a hole in the head.

My sister picked up a couple little ensembles that will no doubt keep
the boys drooling. Go on and drool cuz if you date her, I will go after
    you and everyone you know.

Today made me realize how many circles I’ve swam in! For some reason,
I’m not catching fish in any of these ponds… Anyways, I knew someone
in literally every store I was in. Hollister I ran into my old high
school classmate who I hadn’t seen since graduation 5 years ago. He’s
going to be a doctor in 2 years. I’m meanwhile wasting my life away…

A sample of a conversation when I run into someone…
    “You look really familiar.”

    “You do too!”
    “Evangel? Calvary? UWM? UW-Stevens Point?”

“Maybe UWM, but I graduated in 2001″
“Biology? Yeah! You were in my lab section!”

“Really? Oh! Our TA was the bigger girl…”
“Yeah, she was great… What was her name? Ju- Jul- Julianne!”

“Oh I don’t remember that… What have you been up to?”
    And so it goes…

It probably will never be like it was at Stevens Point, but I hope that
Milwaukee will someday be my backyard like the Internet is now.

  • I actually don’t know what kind of flower this is. I snapped the pic at the Rotary Gardens in Janesville, WI.

  • So I suppose people might want to see what a typical job might look like.

    It’s a nice place.

  • A very rural Saturday today up in the middle of the state today. These cows were quite fascinated by my presence, but they refused to go back to the classic pose they had going on right before I got the camera out.

Feast your eyes on this joint that I was working at today. It’s a scale
model of a Virginia plantation, except for the gaggle of Range Rovers,
it’s much like the places I’ve visited in Virginia. Boxwood hedges, out
buildings, an outhouse for phone conversations, harpsichords built by
the owner, an amazing view, lots of sheep and plenty of chickens.

The name of the place, Two Oaks, is on those pillars, and my #1 job is
keeping the oaks healthy, which is quite a task, but I’m up for it!

  • Going into Friday this week, I’ve got 50 hours in so far. If only I was paid by the hour…

In some ways, I really miss the social life, but in other ways, I know
it’s going to take a lot of work to stay ahead of the curve completing
jobs. Really, business is doing awesome with a lot of great new hires
this year that we’re working to train and retain.

  • Going to work in the posh areas of town gives me lots of ideas for my house.

The whole 27,000 square foot thing sounds good. Really a bargain for $21,000,000.

Views are good, views are good. Quick aside on this house in the Lake
Country…better furnished than nearly any other house you’ll find in
such a quaint way. Then you see their River Hills house with the
$3,000,000 garage addition? Yeah…. Like Chris and I tell each other,
“if they weren’t rich, we wouldn’t have jobs!”

This house stretches off the far left edge of the picture…

Another property from a fairy tale with quite the tale to tell this
week! Chris and I had quite the experience that I’d love to tell you
about but not on a public website….

    Can you guess this one?

  • Lovely traces

I can sense You in everything

The way that You move me

    Takes me far away

    I seek no escape

    I’m dreaming through Your eyes

I am wandering through Your mind

I’m overtaken by the way that You deliver me

    I’m transcended

There’s no place I’d rather be

    Than here in heaven

    Without You I’m incomplete

    It’s hopeless

    Wholly devoted

    I immerse myself in You

    Baptize me in Your love

Cause drowning in the thought of You

    Floods my soul

I’m taken by the things You do

    God, You know

It doesn’t matter what I lose

    I’m Yours

    I am in Your hands

    Under Your command

Like a puppet on a string

    I am willing to

    Put my faith in You

So before the world I sing

You consume me, You consume me

    Burning flame, through my veins

You consume me moving through me

Anytime, anyplace You invade my space

    You consume me
I am consumed, I’m consumed with You

  • Look what I can do!

    Another Cornerhouse dedication…

  • A wild bluebell

    Now some random thoughts:

I found some McIrony in this. You can sort of see me in the window….the poor family inside thought I was photographing them!

Every time I start to think that our company is getting big, I stop to
think about other companies…. Take this Kohl’s distribution center as
an example… Consider that Verizon made $1.76 billion in proft in the
first three months of this year. From people paying $40 a month. Yeah,
    we’re in the minor leagues!

Which isn’t say that I don’t have nice toys at work!
So I’ve got 3 work trucks. The International has 40,000 miles, this
F-550 has (had in the picture) 8,999.9 miles, and the Dakota has about
2,000 miles on it. Yeah! I love trucks!

This picture does not do the scene justice. It’s all getting torn up to
re-route the driveway! This is from what we call “the inner sanctum” of
River Hills. Basically, that means you pay millions for the lot and
have a driveway that exceeds a half mile (with a guard house!). The
former owner passed away and has a lot of things in her and her
family’s name. Uihlein Park. The Petit National Ice Center. The Bradley Foundation. The Bradley Collection at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Allen-Bradley. Our Chevy Suburban.

That’s my younger brother for ya. Guess who gets to work with him?
Well, that’s part of the problem. A semi-trashed employee of mine was a
more than a little forthcoming tonight on the phone when he told me how
much he wants to work with me and how unhappy he would be anywhere
else. Chris wants to work with me and no one else, starting Monday. I
just hired someone today that I really want to work with. What gives? Btw, Rodney no-showed again for the last time.

My co-worker is a dear person, but if he can’t pass the pesticide
certification exam, he can’t get a license and can’t work with me.
Sorry! I wish it were easier. Chris might just spend too much time
flexing and leave me with the dirty work. But the guy I just hired
today is SO accomodating and a quick study with a strong work ethic. I
want him on my crew! And I think I will, because it is now my
    department…

Went out with Katie last night and saw this scene unfold. Public Safety

First person to guess this flower wins a prize.
